This year, we've teamed up with our partner, Victory for Veterans, and Memorial Day Flowers to help pay tribute to the men and women who sacrificed so much for our freedom by placing a flower on every veteran's grave at Baltimore National Cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland (5501 Frederick Avenue Baltimore, MD 21228). This cemetery is the final resting place for over 47,000 men and women who served in our Armed Forces. While our ultimate goal is to place a flower on each and every one of these graves, we've set a goal for our first year in placing 20,000 flowers on Memorial Day (May 25, 2020).
We've had a wonderful partnership with Victory for Veterans for several months, and are thrilled to support their efforts, alongside Memorial Day Flowers. The organization and their team have been wonderful in helping us get the Baltimore event set up and ready to go. The Memorial Day Flowers Foundation honors those who have served our country. Thanks to the generosity of private, public, and corporate sponsors, the Foundation works with local organizers and volunteers to place roses and other flowers on gravesites at National, Veterans, and Local cemeteries across the United States. The Foundation started as a dream in 2011 from patriots who wanted to honor those who served our nation. For 2019 over 5,000 volunteers placed 450,000 flowers at over 150 cemeteries.
While Wellness Wishes is focusing on Baltimore National Cemetery, Victory for Veterans is working a number of other cemeteries, including:
Denver, Colorado
Houston, Texas
Monevallo, Alabama
Evansville, Wyoming
Boulder City, Nevada
Come join us in Baltimore this Memorial Day! There are numerous ways to get involved. Volunteer to come help us place the flowers on Memorial Day morning. We need at least 200 volunteers to come help us pay tribute!
