Service & Sacrifice: What Veteran's Day Means to Veteran Ambassador Lindsey

We kicked off our week-long blog series, "What Veteran's Day Means to Me", yesterday with a wonderful post by Colonel (RET) Mikel Burroughs, who is part of the Wellness Wishes family and leader of our trusted partner, Victory for Veterans.

Veteran's Day is a special day to honor our nation's selfless veterans, and although we believe they deserve recognition 365 days of the year, we're honoring veterans all week long with a guest blog each day on "What Veteran's Day Means to Me."

Today, we're hearing from our own Veterans Ambassador, Lindsey Perkins. Join us in honoring our nation's veterans and check out what Veteran's Day means to Lindsey:

Lindsey Perkins: Air Force Reserve | Security Forces | Veterans Ambassador

The essence of being a veteran is service and sacrifice. On Veterans Day we honor and pay tribute to those who have served and those who continue to serve. Some people join the military to help pay for school and further their education. Some join in the pursuit of learning a job skill in hopes that it will advance them for when they return to the comfort of home and family. Others join because it was their childhood dream, as they looked up to that relative of theirs that once served. But whatever their reason they have all volunteered to provide a necessary service to the United States of America and in doing so they've extended that service to the rest of the world. On behalf of those who have served and those who continue to do so whether it be Active, Reserve, or Guard, your presence is appreciated and we at Wellness Wishes thank you!

Very Respectfully,

Lindsey Perkins, Veterans Ambassador

Thank you Lindsey, and thank you to all the veterans out there...we stand for the flag and we stand for you!
